 Digital printing for packaging 2022

Printing digitally on flexible films with water-based inks represents the ultimate challenge for digital printing. Printing water-based inks onto flexible films pushes digital printing technology to its limits, with the risk to unbalance the fragile equilibrium linking print reliability with ink drying properties and performance of the printed material.

In order to restore this equilibrium, we have developed the ESAJET “Digital” binders range, based on polyurethane and acrylic dispersions,

However, the absence of porosity in the flexible films could create printing defects like bleeding, mottling, and craters.

In order to overcome this issue, we have developed a dedicated range of binders for the formulation of digital primers which help to maintain the print definition without losing the film transparency, lamination performance, and moisture fastness required in certain food packaging applications.
